Big Things Have Small Beginnings
Fran was born in 1978 in France, right in the heart of a golden era for American cinema. This was a decade that would unleash cinematic wonders like Jaws, Apocalypse Now, Star Wars, The Godfather, and The Exorcist. Each film was a spark that ignited his imagination, and the excitement only intensified in the vibrant 1980s!
From an early age, Fran was more than just a kid with a pencil; he was a passionate illustrator, constantly scribbling wherever inspiration struck. More often than not, he could be found at the back of the classroom, captivated not by math lessons but by the graceful curves of his brush strokes.
But it was science fiction that truly captured his heart. He spent countless hours immersed in the universe of Star Wars, bringing his action figures to life in epic battles. Whether staging the Battle of Endor in his mum’s plant pot or inventing half-bodied Lego creatures to populate his imaginative cities, every moment was a vibrant adventure.
His early memories glowed brighter when VHS players became household staples—a true sci-fi marvel! With James Cameron's Aliens hitting the screen in 1986, he watched it on repeat, captivated year after year.
Fran's love for storytelling seamlessly spilled into the world of video games. He fondly recalls those early days on his dad’s Toshiba laptop, navigating through levels of Digger, Space Harrier, and King’s Quest—each floppy disk swap an exhilarating journey.
Christmas 1985 marked a turning point when he unwrapped a Mega Drive, deepening his passion for gaming. From there, it was a wild ride through consoles, including the Nintendo 64, leading up to the latest Xbox Series X.
Driven by his love for film, gaming, and art, Fran took the bold step of moving to London in 2007. For a decade, he immersed himself in the UK’s vibrant creative scene as a Game Designer, honing his craft and evolving into a skilled digital artist. With mastery of tools like Autodesk Maya and Mudbox, he felt the pull of a new frontier—3D printing.
Intrigued by the potential to bring designs to life, he embraced this technology as it advanced. And thus, Tenome was born—a manifestation of his lifelong passion for cinema and art. Each unique piece reflects his deep admiration for the films he loves, crafted with the fervor of a true fan, unbound by studio affiliations.
Fran's journey has been one of discovery and relentless dedication. What started as childhood daydreams transformed into a thriving creative endeavor, fueled by a love for storytelling through design.
